Frequently Asked Questions

Is butyl tape permanent?
The solvent-free butyl formulation is designed to remain flexible and tacky after application. Actual performance depends on the tape grade, substrate, exposure, joint movement, and installation conditions.
Can I use butyl tape on a wet surface?
For maximum bond, the surface must be clean and dry. We do not recommend installation on active leaks or wet surfaces.
What is the construction temperature range?
Our standard butyl tape can be installed from -15degC to 45degC. For extreme climates, specialized formulas are available.
