TPE expansion joint tape for waterproofing details
Tianyuan TPE joint lap tape combines a flexible blue centre with white fleece bonding edges. The straight tape is listed in 120 mm × 10 m and 120 mm × 50 m rolls. It is a component for the designed waterproofing of movement joints, wall-to-floor junctions and selected penetrations—not a pressure-sensitive repair tape.
Specify the joint, then the tape
A procurement schedule should state the joint location, opening width, expected movement, substrate, water exposure, bonding system and required protection. The 500% elongation at break shown in the material indices is useful for material comparison, but it is not a blanket allowance for 500% movement in an installed joint. Tape width and the free central zone must suit the approved detail.
A bondable edge on each side
The fleece edges are incorporated into the chosen waterproofing or bonding material on sound substrate either side of the gap. The central TPE strip spans the moving section. This separation matters: coating or adhesive should secure the edges without locking the movement zone to the substrate. Laps, corners and pipe penetrations need their own compatible joining and protection detail.

Send the roll length and quantity, joint drawing or detail schedule, any formed corner or pipe-piece quantities, specified adhesive or coating, destination and documentation requirements. A supply-grade technical sheet and sample can then be matched to the proposed system and order.

Installation guide

Check the expected movement, gap width, water exposure and protection detail before selecting tape width and bonding material.
Prepare both bonding zones
Provide sound, clean and suitably dry surfaces on both sides of the joint in accordance with the selected bonding system.
Bond the fleece edges
Set the tape across the joint without stretching it taut. Embed and press the fleece edges into the specified bonding material, leaving the central TPE zone free over the gap.
Complete laps and transitions
Detail roll-to-roll connections, corners and penetrations with the approved system method; check continuity before concealment.

What is the difference between 500% elongation and joint movement capacity?
Elongation at break describes the tape material in a tensile test. Installed movement depends on the free TPE zone, joint geometry, bond width and waterproofing detail; it must be designed for the project.
Which roll format should I include in an RFQ?
Available quotation formats are 120 mm × 10 m and 120 mm × 50 m rolls. Send the total joint length, detail drawing, quantity and destination so the roll count and packing can be confirmed.
Can the tape be used with any waterproofing coating?
